Firstly, I want to thank you for enjoying the site and I hope you had a great time, and not got upset at some of the more difficult games. As for myself I like to stay away from one particular game called "Pearls Before Swine" located in the skill category. If it isn't enough that the guy really pokes fun at me, I cannot beat him.
Anyway, As a webmaster, Graphics designer, SEO specialist, and inner-web promoter, I've grabbed a lot of knowledge with the interest and websites, but don't get me wrong. I'm not a big shot or some richy rich. I work at a cabinet making Manufacturing company called Decor Cabinets for a regular wage. A couple of years ago I got into a lot of website stuff for 2 main reasons:
1. I enjoy the internet and creating things in it.
2. I was hoping to quit my awful job and work at home.
Soon I realized that it is no easy task on the internet even for someone with the knowledge that I have. The competition is high, the time it takes is crazy, and the cost is big.
Having an Online Arcade like EchoArcade.com has been the cost of the strongest effort I've made in a website. An arcade is not like a regular blog, membership site, or informational site. The arcade has needed that must be met. I honestly could own 50 other kinds of sites and still it would not come to equal the pressure of holding up this arcade. The thing about an Arcade like this is it costs a lot to run. Having over 1000 video games on a site is absolutely insane when the bill arrives. Not only that, but the competitors are strong so you have to promote for hours and hours a week. It seems like everywhere you turn there is another arcade site.
A common solution to the cost of an arcade is having a mass of advertising scattered all ove the site. If you've been to many sites like this you'll know that. However, most arcades' over due it because they have no other choice. Annoying popups or commercials before every game is probably the worst when it comes to an arcade. Now I made a promise that I would never do those types of advertising, but still I feel kind of bad for the amount of ads that are at Echo Arcade, but I have no choice.
Let me make a promise to anyone who is reading this. "As the site grows in popularity I promise to knock down ads one by one until there is only a few". That's a pretty good promise because most sites put more ads on their site when that happens. It's my goal to make things easier to navigate around the site, and for people to enjoy themselves. Don't get me wrong, I definatly would like a shot at running this website full time, but I sure won't sell out. I ask the following:
1. If you are a regular at EchoArcade.com tell a friend or share the link with a few people. I can use all of the visitors I can get.
2. If you feel the urge to give back a little below I accept with a huge thanks, donations from you with paypal. Nothing huge, of course. I have it default set at $1. Anything helps the site.
